Stackit ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Stackit mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile information (job title, company, location, bio, and profile photo) that you provide.
Contact Data
You may store business contact information including names, phone numbers, email addresses, job titles, companies, tags, and notes. This data is created and managed by you.
Business Card Images
When you use the card scanning feature, we process the captured image using AWS Bedrock and AWS Textract to extract contact information. Card images may be stored in the cloud for your reference.
Device Permissions
- Camera: Used to scan QR codes and business cards.
- Photo Library: Used to select business card images from your gallery.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's core features (contact management, card scanning, QR sharing).
- To sync your data across devices via cloud backup.
- To process business card images and extract contact details using AI/OCR.
- To enable connections between Stackit users.
- To manage your subscription and account.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database and synced to our cloud infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We use AWS Cognito for authentication and industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure, authentication (Cognito), data storage (DynamoDB, S3), and AI processing (Bedrock, Textract).
- RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase transaction data to manage your subscription status.
- Firebase Analytics: We collect anonymous usage analytics (e.g., screen views, feature usage) to improve the app experience. No personally identifiable information is sent to Firebase.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): We collect a device push token to deliver notifications such as daily quotes and tracking reminders. This token is not linked to your personal identity.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Optional authentication providers.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your data may be shared only in the following cases:
- With other Stackit users when you share your profile via QR code or connection request.
- With third-party service providers listed above, solely to operate the app.
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete individual contacts or notes at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app via Settings → Delete Account. Upon account deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (via the in-app Delete Account feature or by contacting us).
- Export your data (via the in-app Export feature in Settings).
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.

8. Children's Privacy
Stackit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
